Built in 1937/38 Dantzic is a Grade II Listed building designed and constructed in a Dutch modernism style purpose built for office use by the Co-Operative Wholesale Society as an extension to the adjoining drapery warehouse of Federation.
Federation, which was built in 1913/14 and follows a similar architectural style to the other CWS warehouse stock within the Estate dating from the early 20th Century, directly adjoins Dantzic and whilst older is not Listed. Both buildings were previously occupied by the Co-op as a single entity.
Daikin VRF system has been installed throughout the seven floors of the building providing heating and cooling to the open plan office spaces, Ground Floor Reception Area and Comms Room.
The units are controlled by handheld tablets located on each floor of the service riser which are connected to the main Daikin Intelligent Touch Manager (ITM) controller.
Daikin HRU’s unit located in the Loading Bay provides fresh air to fan coil units in the Ground Floor open plan office and Reception Area where no window ventilation occurs.
Outdoor units serving these areas are located at Roof Level mounted on bespoke galvanised support manufactured by Heatworks fabrication team.
WC/cleaners store extract is via a single system where the primary ductwork runs vertically through the building up the main service riser to the roof mounted twin fan located on the roof support frame.
